Music by Patti Moran McCoy
Poems by David Zaslow In 1982 Patti Moran McCoy and David Zaslow collaborated to create two LP albums of original poetry and music for kids. Pint-Sized Poetry and Thoughts Like Clouds were distributed to elementary schools throughout the country. The combination of poems set to music was used by teachers as inspiration for creative writing activities in their classrooms. Download the PDF of one of these poems and ask your kids can read the text along with the recording. Many of these poems are in the book Hamburger Dreams that you can purchase in the Shop.

Shakin’ Loose with Mother GooseWinner of the 1987 American Book Award for Educational Materials. The selections here are from the double LP where David Zaslow produced this incredible collection of Mother Goose rhymes set to jazz, rock, and blues tunes composed by Patti Moran McCoy. On the original LPs Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows rapped the rhymes that were edited by David Zaslow to remove the sexism and violence in some of the original rhymes. Download the PDF of your favorite rhyme and your kids can read the text along with each recording. |
