Description
Written by Jane Taylor and published in 1806, most of us only know the first line of this classic children’s song. However, the “missing” verses really make this a beautiful song for all people of all ages. In the hands of such a wonderful vocalist as Patty Shelton, and an original melody by Patti McCoy, the song comes alive. In fact, this song shouldn’t even be in the category here of “Poetry for Kids.” McCoy’s music and Patty Shelton’s singing elevate this to a whole other realm. When I found the original lyrics and gave it to Patti to write music for, we called it “the new Twinkle.”
